People sewing at the Dallas Chapter Panelmaking Workshop, c. 1992c. 1992
Panelmaking workshops were created to bring those affected by the AIDS epidemic together in order to heal as a community. The workshops provide materials and equipment, which many people would not typically have access to, and allow those who wish to create a panel, but do not know how to sew, to find the assitance they need.
