The Cat's Out of the Bag: Limited Edition printing from the Kelmscott Press
Limited Edition printing from the Kelmscott Press, 1897
UNT Libraries added this exceptional volume to our collection of fine printing and print history in 2013. Printed by the famed Kelmscott Press in 1897, Some German Woodcuts borrows specimens of early wood-carving illustration from the private library of William Morris. These illustrations originally appeared in the earliest books of the hand-press period, dating from between 1450-1501, and were collected by Morris as examples of the craftsmanship and dedication to design that he sought to reinvigorate through his own work.
This copy appears in its original blue paper boards. It is one of a limited edition of 225 copies printed on paper.
