Tour of a Lifetime: Leisure Time
Parties
As part of the tour, American Embassies in many of the countries held parties and receptions for the team. Most of the parties were calm and proper, while there were a few, like the reception in Spain, shown here, which were a bit more lively.
Tourism
Kap wanted these young men to treat this tour as an educational experience, and made sure that they were able to spend time visiting ancient sites, monuments, and temples. This small photo shows team members sightseeing with Lamar Hunt in Spain, early in the journey. In India, the team visited the Raj Ghat memorial for Mahatma Gandhi, and in Burma (now Myanmar) the team visited Buddhist temples.
